Plan C is the name we have chosen to formalise the process which began back in June 2011 at a 3 day gathering in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire that brought together people, some of which had a shared historical involvement in the anti-capitalist movement and "movement of movements", along with recently involved activists.

There were many reasons why we felt the need to regroup and discuss what we are doing, as we, like many others, have seen the intensification of attacks of capital and state control on a global scale since the onset and contagion of a historical crisis in capitalism. We are a group of people in the process of generating tactics, strategy and forms of organisation appropriate to the new situation that the current global crisis has created. When changes in capitalism occur they have concrete effects on the way we experience our daily lives.

We cannot continue to apply models of political activity that fail to reflect those changes. We believe that the situation calls for a new approach to politics in order to fulfil the potential for radical social change that exists in the present moment. By our activity we are seeking to contribute to the development of this new approach.
